A Study of the Health State of Old

Abstract
|
|
|
This study was done for the purpose of getting the information about the geriatric nursing and studying the older people health state.
The data were collected by interview method in August, 1984. The 121 older people who has lived in Seoul were selected randomly.
The instruments used for this study were Health Problem Scale for the Old developed by the researcher. Analysis of data was done by Product Moment Correlation and F-test. The results of this study were as follows;
1. The relationships between the complaint score of the old of physical problem and age (F=4.05, p<.05), occupation(F=7.5, p<.01), and the state of being together (F=4.07, p<.01) were statistically significant.
2. When the relationships between the complaints score of the old of mental problem and the demographic characteristic of the respondents explored, sex(F=20.95, p<.01), age (F=3.57, p<.05), occupation(F=3.85, p<. 05), income (r = -.33, p<. 01) and the state of being together(F=4.01, p<. 01) were significantly related to complaint score.
3. When the relationships between the complaints score of the old of general health problems and the demographic characteristics of the respondents explored, sex (F=5.78, p<.01), age(F=4.54, p<.01), occupation (F=8.96, p<.01), income(r=- 23, p<.05) and the state of being together (F=4.56, p<.01), were significantly related to complaints score.
